Thrive Massage – Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Thrive Massage, a division of Thrive Better Living Ltd., which provides professional massage therapy services in home, hotel, and mobile settings. By booking or receiving a service, you agree to these Terms in full.


1. Eligibility and Consent

1.1 Age Requirement

You must be 18 years or older to book a massage therapy session. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present and provide written consent.

1.2 Health Disclosure

You must disclose all relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, and ongoing treatments during the booking process or before your appointment. Thrive Massage professionals reserve the right to refuse or modify services based on health contraindications.

1.3 Informed Consent

By receiving services, you consent to:

  • Physical touch as part of massage therapy
  • Assessment of physical health (where applicable)
  • Tailored treatment plans based on disclosed needs and preferences

2. Booking, Payment & Cancellations

2.1 Booking Confirmation

Appointments must be scheduled via:

  • Our online platform
  • Phone or email
  • Referral by a health provider (if part of an integrated care plan)
2.2 Payment Terms
  • All services are prepaid or paid upon arrival via secure digital methods or authorized card readers.
  • Prices are clearly stated on our booking platform and may include VAT (UK) or applicable state taxes (US).
2.3 Cancellations & No-Shows
  • Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged up to 100% of the service fee.
  • Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in a suspension of booking privileges.

3. Therapist Conduct & Boundaries

3.1 Licensed Professionals

All massage therapists are:

  • UK: Registered and insured through relevant professional bodies (e.g., CNHC, FHT)
  • US: Licensed by their respective state boards and/or NCBTMB
  • Other Countries: Compliant with local licensing laws
3.2 Scope of Practice

Thrive Massage provides therapeutic, remedial, and relaxation-based massage. Therapists do not:

  • Provide diagnosis or medical treatment
  • Offer sexual or erotic services (zero tolerance)
  • Perform services outside their training or license scope
3.3 Client Behaviour

Inappropriate conduct by clients—verbal, physical, or otherwise—will result in:

  • Immediate termination of the session
  • Full charges being applied
  • Potential reporting to law enforcement

4. Safety, Hygiene & Environment

4.1 Therapist Responsibilities
  • Use of clean linens, sanitized equipment, and disposable materials as appropriate
  • Adherence to all infection control protocols
  • Right to refuse treatment if conditions are unsanitary or unsafe
4.2 Client Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe, private, and clean space for in-home/hotel treatment
  • Disclose symptoms of contagious conditions (e.g., COVID-19, flu, skin infections)

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1 Results Not Guaranteed

Massage therapy results vary based on individual health, condition severity, and treatment adherence. Thrive Massage does not guarantee specific results.

5.2 Exclusion of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thrive Massage is not liable for:

  • Injury or aggravation caused by undisclosed conditions
  • Delayed results or lack of perceived benefit
  • Damages arising from misuse of recommended products or aftercare
5.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Thrive Massage, its employees, and its affiliates harmless against claims arising from:

  • Your failure to disclose medical conditions
  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your misuse of services or materials

6. Refunds and Service Credits

Refunds are considered only under the following conditions:

  • Therapist is unavailable and no suitable replacement is found
  • Session is cancelled with proper notice
  • Service delivery fails due to verified fault of Thrive

Note: Subjective dissatisfaction (e.g., “I didn’t like the style”) is not automatically grounds for a refund. Please communicate preferences clearly.


7. Privacy and Confidentiality

7.1 Data Collection

We collect personal and health information to:

  • Deliver safe, effective care
  • Track preferences and progress
  • Meet regulatory or legal requirements
7.2 Confidentiality

All information shared during intake or sessions is confidential and stored in compliance with:

  • UK GDPR (Data Protection Act 2018)
  • US HIPAA (if applicable)
  • Global Data Protection Standards

We never sell or share your data without consent, except where legally required (e.g., safeguarding or legal investigations).


8. International Compliance

8.1 UK Clients

Thrive Massage operates under the standards set by:

  • Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
  • Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)
  • UK consumer protection and health regulations
8.2 US Clients

All therapists practicing in the US are:

  • Licensed in their state
  • Compliant with insurance, liability, and record-keeping requirements
  • Bound by NCBTMB Code of Ethics and AMTA Guidelines
8.3 Global Clients

Thrive only operates in jurisdictions where we:

  • Comply with local licensing rules
  • Have legally cleared staff or partners to perform services
  • Offer services in accordance with public health guidance

9. Amendments to Terms

Thrive Massage reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
